De-registration of the church tax

Church tax in Switzerland is 1% of taxable income and 0.3% of taxable assets. With a gross income of CHF 80,000.00 annually, you must pay CHF 800.00 as church tax. However, you do not have to pay church tax if you are a church community member in your home country. Even leaving a Swiss national church does not affect your membership in your church community in your home country.
